Add The River - "Demo 2001"

(self released, 2001)

I had never listened to Add The River’s music, but I had heard of them. I had heard a lot of good words about their music and their live appearances. I still can’t tell anything about their lives, but this demo gave me an impression of the band’s capabilities. They play a kind of powerful heavy rock, like Monster Magnet of the last albums do. But they are far more melodic and unexpectedly in a very genuine way. The problem with a lot of these bands is the lack of personality, but these guys do it very well. Emphasis must be given to the performance of the singer. Frankly, I think that this guy has very good voice (especially for Greek standards); combining it with good English accent. I have to note the superb “Trouble Dance” and “One Of Us” which I think that they are the highlights of this demo. The production is quite good. Now I have to ask from Pentheus to give me more information about the band and to try to “catch them” live. As for you, you can contact the band (see the links section).
