Hostal Handshake - "H2"

(self released, 2002)

The first attempt of Hostal Handshake is entitled "H2". I wouldn't call it stoner. It's closer to a melodic hard/heavy rock with heavy metal riffing.
Markos manages very well his double role in guitar and vocals. Very inspired guitar solos and really melodic vocals with the "minimum" Greek accent in its voice. Aris in bass guitar cannot be heard clearly, in contrast with Bubz (the drummer), who's drumming sounds very clear, but always in the same tempo (counting on the high-hat).
Reffering to the production, I would call the attention of the band to one point: The vocals sound in the same level as the guitar and the drums. "H2" would sound better if the vocals were in the front and the guitar with the drums a bit in the background.
Anyway, it is a very auspicious debut demo cd. I would prefer more than three songs but the fact is that these guys managed it enough well!
The songs are: "Direction In Life", "Standing In The Corner", "Has To Be".
