Hostal Handshake - "Public Affears"

(self released, 2003)

Second attempt, just after 1 year from Hostal Handshake. More songs and better production this time...
Some new elements in Hostal's music i.d. (pre-recorded conversations, sound effects, peals of laughter), which enrich the final result of "Public Affears".
They have many influences, but if I refer to them I'll wrong their efforts. But, I would refer to the frontcover of their second demo which is a very clever idea as a picture and a very good choice of the band!
The guitar is much rhythm now instead of their debut demo cd, where it sounded as a lead (that wasn't negative though). The solos stay in high levels as always. The difference in Markos' vocals - which can be heard clearly than their debut demo - is that he's not only singing but he's performing too. Which means that he worked on his voice during the previous year.
Aris, the bassman, can be heard well enough this time and he's doing his job very well, indeed!
I would call the attention of the band to one point: Bubz should try harder to catch the other two guys. They must spend some more hours in studio in order to manage a tighter sound and a better result for their instruments.
I liked much their debut cause "Public Affears" sounds a bit closer to heavy metal than to heavy rock and because of the drumming which gave me the impression that Bubz hasn't enough time to practice during the period from "H2" to "Public Affears".
The six tracks: "Form Of Agony", "Once In A Stoned Time", "Final Hit", "Don't Wait For Me", "It's All About Love", "Blue Clouds-White Sky".
