In The Groove comp.

(the music cartel recs, 1999)

The place is filled with heavy/stoner rock collections. New York's The Music Cartel's turn was to publish something. This collection includes 14 bands, from the music scenes of heavy rock, stoner rock, doom rock and many more. In order for me not to get confused myself with the labels' terminology, I'll speak in my own words. In the collection there are bands well-known and with a considerable discography, as there are other bands with less active presence. From the 14 songs of the collection, I count as better the following: "Full Throttle" - Nebula, "Gonna Creep Up On You" - Leadfoot (from Thin Lizzy), "Blackout River" - Roadsaw, "Face In The Mirror" - sHeavy, "Quantum Pounder" - Red Giant, "Not Fragile" - Acid King, "Mississippi Queen" - Raging Slab (from Mountain), "In Orbit" - Terra Firma, "Rattlesnake Shake" - Altamond. As a closing word, this collection is good and the cover is perfect (hitchhiker goddess!). I recommend it unreservedly as a first buy and first impression of the genre.
