Memory Garden - "Marion"

(heathendoom records, 2004)

This 7" EP signals the return of one of the best doom metal bands back to action. After four years of absence the Swedish quintet is back for good.
This ep contains two songs that continue the music travel that stopped in 2000 after "Mirage" (here I must publicly admit that in my review in the printed version of Monolith I was unfairly critical with the band and I retract my statements). "Marion" is back form the early days of the band. Here appears in a new version with new orchestration. "Nameless" is a song that mixes the Candlemass and Memento Mori influences into the bands distinctive blend. I have nothing else to add, apart that the production is very good and the cover artwork, made by 00's cover artwork guru Travis Smith, is once again excellent.
You can purchase it, either directly form the band (Memory Garden, c/o Johansson, Solhemsgatan 10 A, S-692 33 Kumla, Sweden) or from the record label (Heathendoom Music, c/o P. Karlsson, Havsornsg. 135 bv, S-556 11 Jonkoping, Sweden) for the price of 8 € (incl. airmail). Remember that this release is limited to 500 copies, so you must hurry up...
