After a short period of silence, these two Australian bands are coming back with an amazing split release. After the re-issue of their full-length album ("Doom Saloon") from Rise Above and their recent Australian tour with Electric Wizard (10 shows in total!), Pod People perform "In The End" using their familiar recipe; groovy low-tuned guitars and raw vocals with "a heavy to the bone" feeling. Just another perfect mixture of Doom and Heavy Rock session. >From the other side, Daredevil's "The King" is the grimiest ode of Heavy Rock 'N Roll that I ever heard. The filthy and massive guitars and the vicious and rough vocals, makes me think that Daredevil are the perfect missing link between Motorhead and AC/DC. Moreover, it's a limited edition of 400 copies, accompanied with an excellent artwork by Ben Brown and Ray Ahn. |
