| Rote Mare - "The Red Sea" |

Rote Mare is a one man band from Australia. "The Red Sea" is the fourth demo of the gentleman behind this. Musical style? With influences like Trouble and Saint Vitus what other could he play? Do the math… "The Red Sea" is supposed to be a demo and naturally we face it as it is, but with four tracks with a total of 43 minutes and the nature of the music it could be also a full length. Ultra slow compositions during the whole demo and eligible atmosphere compose this work. Celtic Frost, Sleep and certain (very few) My Dying Bride elements make their appearance. The demo begins with the self titled track that from the first seconds prepares us for a “stonerish” continuity, but is limited there. The remaining three pieces are based on the same doomy synthetic perception. Atmo/goth like vocals in certain points, well managed compositions that escape from the limits of a simple demo. But by the passing of time, music at some way tires off. This however does not mean anything cause as I reported previously this work is simply a demo and contemplating the arrival of a full length and the talent that Howlett appears to have, we may be more interested on Rote Mare in the future. But up to then…
